Brothers Against Domestic Violence (BADV)

Brothers Against Domestic violence (BADV) is a men’s healing and support group for men committing and struggling with domestic violence in their life. This program is designed to hold men accountable to their actions and heal through cultural activities and programs.


ChangeV
- Target group: 18+ subject to assessments and eligibility, Male Only
- Day and Time: Tuesdays, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
- Location: Wilga Office
- Duration: 10 Week blocks, All year – excluding public holidays and school holidays.
ChangeV is a Men’s Behaviour Change Program (MBCP) created and designed by Gawura Aboriginal Corporation. ChangeV is run collectively with BADV and is facilitated through a cultural lens. It is a domestic violence targeted program based off accountability, changing behaviours and victim safety. It consists of the completion of 12 psychoeducational modules which covers from “What is domestic violence” to “anger management” and more. This program is subject to eligibility. To be assessed you must contact a program facilitator at Gawura Aboriginal Corporation.
Koori Youth Aboriginal Kultcha Konnection (KYAKK)
- Target group: Under 18, Male and Female
- Day and Time: Thursday, 11:00 am – 1:30 pm
- Location: Blackbutt Youth Centre
- Duration: All year – excluding public holidays and school holidays.
KYAKK is a youth program created to reconnect our youth with their culture. We run a number of cultural workshops but also provide sessions on general life skills, mentoring, and leadership.

Illawarra Aboriginal Men’s Physical Health and Training (IAMPHAT)
- Target group: All ages, Male Only
- Day and Time:Thursday, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
- Location: Wilga Office
- Duration:All year – excluding public holidays and school holidays.
IAMPHAT is a physical health and training program designed to assist in enhancing our Aboriginal men’s health and fitness. Partnered with services such as NSW Health our participants of IAMPHAT receive weekly health observations and check ins.
